CoffeechatYour business or organization is always changing and growing – make sure your website is keeping up!  Here is a quick checklist you can use to make sure visitors to your website can find what they need, have a good experience and that you make a great first impression.

Reread your website content – Check for spelling and grammar errors, make sure you have replaced in ‘placeholder’ content you might have added earlier.

Make sure your contact details are correct –  Particularly if you want to rank for local searches, make sure your physical location details are correct, together with names and phone numbers.

Take some time to tweak your SEO settings – Take a little time to check, create or tweak the title, slug, description and key phrase on your website pages.

Check that images optimized and displaying correctly –  All of the sites at Circle City Web Design come with Imagify – software that optimizes and resizes images as they are added to your site.  You still need to make sure the images display correctly and that when you add an image to a page you are selecting an appropriate image size.

If you are linking to Audio or Video you need to make sure that they are playing correctly –  Ensure that any audio and video items play correctly.

Double check that your images are correctly licensed –   Make sure that you have permission to use all of the images and other content that is on your website.

Check your social media –  Click on all of the social media icons on your website to make sure they are directing your visitor to the correct social media channels.

Submit a test of every email form on your website.   Check to make sure the forms are being sent to the right email addresses and that they are populated with all of the information that you need.

Test that forms are displaying the correct notification message –  After a form is submitted your website should display a message to let your customer know that they have successfully submitted their form.  You can also use this message to share more information about your business and, in some cases, offer a special ‘bonus’ such as a coupon code.

Make sure you are making the most of auto-replies and that they are working correctly – Many contact forms send your customers an auto-reply, make sure that your auto-replies are up-t0-date and conveying the message that you want them to.

Make sure you have claimed a business listing on Google My Business – Google my business listings are free and provide great exposure.  Make sure you have claimed your business and that you are adding photos and keeping your hours and contact information up-to-date.

Take a look at your website’s navigation – Make sure that you are still putting your most important links ‘up front’ and that you are still happy with the navigation’s flow and functionality.

Take a look at your website on a Phone and Tablet – over 50% of your visitors are looking at your site from their cell-phone, it’s important that it loads quickly, is easy to navigate and looks attractive.
