Ever need to capture something on your screen to share with someone? This is something I do almost every day. I send screenshots to show customers how an application works, or what something should look like. Often it’s easier to show someone where to click than it is to explain it.
Ever tried the ‘cntrl-prtscr’ shortcut only to discover that you are going to have to share EVERYTHING on your screen? Oversharing can be bad – we want to control what part of our screen we are sending or posting.
Enter JING… Jing is free software developed by TechSmith that takes a picture or video of the user’s computer screen and uploads it to the Web, FTP, computer or clipboard.
As an added bonus, Jing makes it possible to draw arrows and add text so that you can communicate more clearly with your reader.
For example, if one of my customers needs help adding a picture to a post, I could send them this picture…
I timed myself, creating this screenshot, uploading it to WordPress and adding it to this post took 2 minutes.
JING is a huge timesaver – it allows you to send, post or save professional screenshots quickly and easily – and it is FREE.
Here’s the link, all you have to do is follow this link and click the “Free Download” button. After it is installed a little half circle will hang out quietly at the edge of your monitor, just mouse over it and select the ‘capture’ button to get started.
